About Wannabe Hipster Mom

Just another day of living the dream

Just another day of living the dream

My name is Shannon. I can be reached at shanlee at gmail dot com.

In 2004, I moved to Bend, Oregon which is quite a change from a metropolitan area (yes, Omaha isn’t some city full of cornfields).   I started a new blog called  ”There’s Always Something” after something my mom used to always say to me as a child. I got married, changed jobs and had a baby. By accident, I lost my of my archives but also kept a baby journal for my precious Lil B. One day, I got locked out of that blog and decided it was time to take the plunge and just register a domain name already. As soon as I can get into Lil B’s journal, I will import in those posts. I’m waiting GOOGLE.

Before I had a baby, I moonlighted as a Renegade Rollergirl, used to know all the latest indie rock bands, camped, hiked, biked, skied and snowshoed ALOT, traveled all over the Pacific Northwest,  cooked and baked from scratch and had an active social life. Now, I’m a wannabe hipster mom.

Seriously, I love my kid and my husband and wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve recently taken up running thanks to my friends. I can run 3 miles. To some, that isn’t much but I couldn’t run 3 miles before — that’s a big deal to me. I also love to cook and bake and make my co-workers fat in the process. I’m passionate about music — especially if it’s Radiohead, Wilco or U2.  I working in marketing at multi-specialty healthcare facility. I like Twitter and Facebook and when I have time, I’m reading blogs about entertainment, food, parenting and staying healthy. My google reader is often full for days.

My current aspiration is to be the girl picked to play the guitar solo during Spiders (Kidsmoke). I know my aspirations should be higher but how cool would that be?

Sit back and enjoy the ride. I am.
